Previous Blog: Sept 25 - Choosing a Project | Next Blog: Oct 9 - Call with Hyivy Health
This week, we had a sync up with the prof team about upcoming due dates.
We also reached out to some faculty members who might be interested in talking to us about medical wearables, and emailed to schedule a call with Hyivy Health, a start-up that our team member Alicia used to co-op at. Hyivy makes pelvic floor rehabilitation devices and are all too familiar with how issues in women’s health are often overlooked.
We also started working on a survey to send out to those who have experienced/are currently experiencing menopause and hot flashes. The teaching team was kind enough to offer to share the survey with their own networks.

We also started prepping for our PDP.

Part of this was looking into patents. We also refined the scope of our device - we wanted it to be able to predict, detect, and alleviate hot flashes.
The teaching team advised us to begin designing in parallel to waiting for survey responses. They also took some pressure off our shoulders by reassuring us that the preliminary designs are just… well, preliminary.
